4.20.19 - It's 4/20, time to talk about Cannabis
Despite what you have been told repeatedly for decades, Cannabis is not an addictive drug. It was a medicine until 1970 when it was made illegal by the Controlled Substance Act and is again recognized for its medicinal benefits after 5 decades of prohibition. Prohibition based on lies of a gateway drug with a high likihood of addiction with no medicinal benefit. Propoganda to criminalize it for pharmacutical profit and for the legal ability to incarcerate minority populations. Nothing but intimidation and control. During this time the overall health of the nation has declined. Significantly. Cancer, Autoimmune Conditions, Autism skyrocketing. Obesity, depression, anxiety, PTSD is at an all time high. As is chronic pain. All this creates dependance on pharmacutical prescription drugs. Addiction and death are the price we pay for cannabis prohibition. It stops with us. When we make our voice heard. I am proud to be a cannabis activist.
The truth is that we have an endocannabinoid system with receptors for the cannabis plant. It is natural to the body. It decreases inflammation and increases circulation. The main causes for pain. It kills cancer cells. It creates apoptosis which sends messages to the irregular cells (ONLY) to self destruct. It also cuts off the cells ability to grow blood vessels to feed off the body. The cells starve. Only the unhealthy ones. It also reduces pain by not only improving the circulation within the body and preventing inflammation, it intercepts pain signals to the brain reducing the intensity of the pain.
No one has ever died from an overdose. We do not have accidents attributed to use of cannabis. We don't experience psychotic behavior blaming this plant. Yet it has been prohibited for decades despite the proof existing since prohibition.
It's time to stop perpetuating the ignorance and the lies. It's time to start educating ourselves and making decisions on what we feel is best for us. It's time to hold those who withheld the truth liable. It's time to vote in only those who support freedom to pursue our own definition of life, liberty and the pusuit of happiness.
